His journey included six years in the Arizona Department of Corrections, stemming from addiction-driven armed robberies and narcotics sales. Despite the challenges, Innerseed's faith has fueled his ministry through gospel rap since 1997, earning him recognition as a pioneering Christian hip-hop artist in Arizona. He also co-founded a residential treatment facility, A Better Way of Life, and actively participates in Alcoholics Anonymous. As a licensed and ordained minister, Innerseed's powerful testimony inspires hope and freedom from addiction.

James Patrick was born in Yonkers, NY in 1992 and raised in a toxic, alcoholic home as the oldest of three. He started using drugs at 13, and by 18, moved to Arizona in 2013 for rehab. There, he found faith, healing, and a supportive community that helped him rebuild his life. Pushed by friends in 2024 to pursue music, James quickly made waves—winning Best Artist at Heat Advisory, headlining Hip-Hop Fest, and taking first place at DJ Pest’s Open Mic. Inspired by artists like Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, Brandon Lake, Chris Brown, Yelawolf, Teddy Swims, and Bruno Mars, his sound blends raw storytelling with soul, grit, and redemption.
